the principal symptom b eing "butterflies in thei:r stomachs."
These me n started 'work on the 3 5 00.0-barrel flee ting-roof tank
after all cleaning operations h a d b een completed. The lead test-
on the air of the tank after cleaning showed a ooncentration of

has b e e n done on the roof of the tank and fro m t.he outside,
although there have bee n instances where men weipe fox* short

questioning b y Mr. Penrose no symptoms other th an the gastric
disturbance could be elicited. They apparently had no 5nsomnia,
no loss of appetite, no nausea, and no colic, Six of the ten
men had no complaints whatsoever.
There is certainly very little likelihood that the symptoms
of these m e n are due to lead absorption. The

a possibility, however, that they may have abso pbed some: lead
from their paint-burning operations particularly. Especially
beca u s e cf the attitude c-.f the men and bf their immediate
?supervisor it was thought advisable to have them seen by a
Griffin physician. Therefore, a call was made to Dr, F r a n k n pf Toronto who has done preemployment examinations ior us and he was asked to make an examination of the fou r men. Mr. Penrose has some sample bottles in storage in Toronto and. the e will be u s e d not only for the collection of urine samples `r o m the compl a i n i n g m e n but also on the other m e n of O x b grou;p of ten who do not have any complaints.
