Wormser, Secretary-Treasurer The meeting was called to order with Mr. F. H. Brownell in the chair. DATE FOR ANNUAL MEETING The Secretary requested authorization to postpone the call for the annual meeting until the President of the As sociation had made a complete recovery from the injuries re ceived in his accident, and was able to preside at the meet ing, whereupon It was agreed that the Secretary distribute the custo mary secretary's and treasurer's reports to the membership . at this time and that the call for the meeting would be post poned indefinitely.pending President Crane's return* The Secretary presented an application for membership in the Lead Industries Association from the Evans Metal Company, Atlanta, Georgia, and recommended its favorable consideration. It was regularly moved, seconded and carried tbat^the Evans Metal Company of Atlanta, Georgia, be admitted to member ship in the Lead Industries Association. ' LlfcOZbl"7 > r~n Executive Committee * t Meeting April-25, 1941 MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS FROM PRIMARY AND SECONDARY LEAD REFINERS The Secretary stated that he was prepared to make a preliminary report on the result of his study on the relative importance of membership subscriptions from re finers of primary as compared with refiners of secondary lead, a study which had been authorized by the Board of Directors at the meeting on January 7, 1941. This study indicated that a reduction of 50 per cent could be made in the subscriptions from refiners of secondary lead coupled with an increase of about 10 per cent in the subscriptions from the refiners of primary lead without affecting the total subscription from the refining section of the membership. Without objection, the Secretary deferred making a detailed report until the next meeting of the Eoard of Directors. COOPERATION WITH WASHINGTON ON DEFENSE The Secretary reported that the Association had taken a great interest in the defense program as it re lated to construction of all description and that the use of some lead products in the plumbing field had been adversely affected by Government practice in some directions whereby code requirements of municipalities and counties had been circumvented, permitting the use of substitutes for lead that did not give as durable an installation. Without objection, the Secretary pro posed to investigate the subject further with an appeal to the proper authorities for reconsideration of any action which might not result in giving the public the best type of plumbing installation.
