Introduction:
A l i g h t y e l l o w l i q u i d labeled CS-2151 and a l i g h t y e l l o w s o l i d l a b e l e d CS-2070 were recefved from V. Pothapragada November 18, 1980.
The CS-2070 was reported t o be the d r i e d s o l i d from CS-2151 which
i s 25% s o l i d s i n water. The samples were submitted f o r PMN
c h a r a c t e r i z a t i o n . Since CS-2791 I s 25% CS-2070 i n water and pH
was 6.7, no f u r t h e r s o l u b i l i t y determinations were made i n water. Observations were made a t pH 4 and 9, and I n some organic solvents.
Experlmental :
Amounts o f (3-2070 were placed I n v i a l s and various solvents added t o make a 5% s o l u t i o n .
For t h e aqueous b u f f e r systems, CS-2070 was placed i n v i a l s and s u f f i c i e n t buf'fer added t o be equivalent t o 25% s o l i d s . Buffers used were pH 4.01, 7.0 and 9.0. A f t e r mlxfng f o r several hours and standing overnight, observations were made and t h e CS-2070 s o l u b l e
i n pH 4 and 9 were determined.
Resul t s :
CS-2070 was s o l u b l e t o a l e v e l o f >5% i n Methanol, Acetone showed s o l u b l l i t y .at <9%.
Ethanol and n-octanol .
CS-2070 was s o l u b l e i n water and pH 7 b u f f e r t o >25%.
The concentrations i n pH 4 and 9 b u f f e r s was 12% CS-2070 f o r p H 4 a n d 7% CS-2070 f o r pH 9. Both had a lower phase.
