Following are the 1988 Industrial Hygiene^Objectives and quarter in which the objective will be completed:
1. Integration of Industrial Hygiene with Safety
The Industrial Hygiene and Safety activities will be integrated
during the year, e.g. training courses, newsletters, plant
audits. This will maximize our services and minimize
duplication.
(4th Quarter)
2. Training

a) Present a combined Fundamental Industrial Hygiene and
.
Safety Management Course.
(1st Quarter)
b) Develop and present a train-the-trainer workshop for
OSHA/SARA worker emergency response.
(2nd Quarter)
(Both sessions involve a joint effort of Industrial Hygiene and Safety and a consolidation of training courses.)
3. WISHES
a) Develop WISHES software and manual for Westinghouse Canada
containing international exposure limits consistent with
Canadian regulations.
(2nd Quarter)
b) Develop biological monitoring module to retain medical
monitoring records as per OSHA and corporate medical
requirements.
(4th Quarter)
4. Document retention/reduction of historical corporate and plant
Industrial Hygiene Records.
(2nd Quarter)
5. Develop a manual of existing Industrial Hygiene Policies.
Procedures and Guidelines to distribute to acquired or new
Westinghouse plants.

a) Finalize and issue as scheduled 25 ne* or revised
Westinghouse Safe Practice Data Sheets.

7. Radiation Safety
Update Management Directive MD-R15 Radiation Safety and the
eleven (11) Westinghouse Guidelines for Radiation Safety
Programs.

8. Asbestos
a) Finalize and issue the Westinghouse Asbestos Abatement
Project Procedure.

b) Develop guidelines for Asbestos Assessment and Abatement
for Westinghouse Credit Corporation new and refinancing
loans.

9. Emergency Response
Train Environmental Control personnel how to access the
. National Library of Medicine data system for use in emergency
spills response.

10. Develop a checklist of industrial hygiene subjects to be included in the Environmental Control Audit Program. (2nd Quarter)

1) Participate in the annual American Industrial Hygiene
Association Meeting to maintain professional
certification and currency with new technology.

2) Participate in an Asbestos Abatement Management Course.

assessment for WCC.

Hygienist) to maintain professional certification and
currency with new technology.

2) Participate in an Asbestos Abatement Management Course as time and funds are available. This will help us manage the increasing number of asbestos abatement projects in the corporation and assessment for WCC. (1st or 2nd Quarter)

1) Participate in the annual Labeling Conference to maintain currency in labeling Vestinghouse products for OSHA and DOT requirements.
2) Conduct joint Vestinghouse plant audits with Mr. J. E. Levine for DOT Regulatory Compliance.
d) Linda Fleming
1) Attend the biannual Ashton-Tate Programmers Data Base Conference to maintain currency with the rapid developments in computer technology.
e) Wayne Bickerstaff
1) Participate in a comprehensive AIHA Training Course. The course objective is a technical review of industrial hygiene principles and can be used to prepare for the AIHA Certification exam.
