Shell believes that the study as described is worthwhile and should be under taken. We are casting our ballot therefore, in favor of the study. Since we have been producers of Vinyl Chloride monomer for many years, we have a vested interest to the determination of any health effects resulting from exposure to the product. At the same time, our interest from this time forward will be more retrospective than active, since VCM no longer plays a role in our chemical portfolio. We will still however, be most interested in the results of the study, and will appreciate being kept informed of its progress and its final results.
