Yu, File/Chrono Subject A.I.A. - NORTH AMERICA BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MARCH 13 - 14, 1984 i The first quarters meeting of A.I.A./N.A. Board of Directors will be primarily devoted to a review and discussion of the regulatory initiatives of OSHA, EPA and Asbestos Information Associations response thereto. This will be the associations last meeting of the directors before the congressional hearings on the proposed revision to OSHA's asbestos standards are likely to occur. The thrust of this meeting should give us a fairly good handle on where OSHA and EPA are headed. On March 13th, we will have a senior spokeman from the Chemical Manufacturers Association address the group. This will be Dr. Fred Hoerger, Ph.D., Director, Regulatory and Leg islative Issues, The Dow Chemical Company. Since asbestos is the first substance planned for comprehensive regulation under Section VI of the Toxic Substances Control Act of EPA, the chemical manufacturers have a direct interest in the rule making process for Asbestos and this exchange of information should be mutually beneficial to all of us. NOTE TO COPYHOLDERS: If any of you have any comments or requests for information prior to my attending this session, please give Esther Herrera at Ext. 168 a call and she will pass these on to me.
