Dear Mr. Rasmussen: Some time ago in a telephone conversation I spoke with you concerning certain difficulties that had arisen at Camp Young in connection with the use of leaded gasoline in stoves. I have no doubt you have checked into this situation yourself,:, but I had the means of finding out some of the facts through a representative of the Ethyl Corporation, who had other reasons for visiting Camp Young. Through him I have found that the information I gave you was incorrect. It now appears that leaded gasoline was being used as a fuel, but that the Army Range designed for the use of such fuel was in use and that nothing more than certain more or less usual operating diffi culties had been experienced. You are sufficiently familiar with those difficulties that nothing more need be said about it, and I am writing merely for the purpose of indicating that I have no intention of looking further into the matter or taking any action of any kind concerning it. If there should be any further difficulties which I could as sist in studying or looking into, I should be glad to do so at your request.
