ETHYL GASOLINE CORPORATION Mi YORK CITY October 10, 1934. Dr. Hugh S. Cumming, Surgeon General : TJ. S. Public Health Service '' , Washington, D. C. Ity dear Dr. Camming:: I have your letter of October 8th and -wish to express my appreciation of your courtesy in talcing action so promptly on the matter of increasing the maximum permissible tetraethyl lead to socalled regular price gasoline. We have not yet decided as to when and to what extent we will change our contracts to permit increases in tetraethyl lead content, but we will advise your office when we make such decision. Yfith reference to the matter of the interpretation of the words "distinctive color" I discussed this matter last week with Dr. Sayers and am sending him today samples of the colors now employed by our licensees in regular grade gasoline. If any of these colors should not meet with your approval, we will be glad to see that the color is increased to such an extent as you may think desirable. Very truly yours, Vice-President ge/ b HE 0009331
