Subject: EFFLUENT PROBLEMS AT PHILADELPHIA
On June 27th Jeff Jacobs and I met with Fred Baser to discuss a plan of action concerning effluent problems at the Philadelphia Plant.
We are planning a July 15th meeting at which we will need information concerning:
1. Mother liquor recycle capability for all streams and together with an approximate ppm lead reduction number. Responsibility for this information will be the Plant (J. Kalanta, J. Borrie) and the Laboratory (C. Barreneche).
2. Engineering proposals which would include past
discussions and also as Fred Baser suggested - filtration
as accomplished at Pedricktown. Responsibility for this
phase should be under your direction. Perhaps a visit to Pedricktown would be in order - I'll be glad to
i ^
participate if you wish.
3. Information on polyelectrolytes to further aid our present settling system. Information on type of agents including a survey by a laboratory that Fred Baser is suggesting, should be collected by the Plant engineer's concerned (J. Kalanta, J. Borrie) in conjunction with the laboratory at Philadelphia.
