I am relieved that your manipulations were unsuccessful. I am grateful for people like Deborah, who take science and the role of science in protecting human health and welfare seriously. Your actions are illegal and detestable. I am calling for both of your resignations from the EPA effective immediately. The EPA's job is to protect humans from pollution. Yet, every step you take is a departure from that job. You have lobbied to remove the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement, which was successful, fought against regulations for releasing toxins into the environment, which resulted in the approval of chlorpyrifos a devastating neurotoxin, and aligned yourself with groups and lobbyists that want to deregulate pollution protections such as the fossil fuels industry. Your continuing attempts to dismantle the EPA and destroy the protections that it provides is sickening. Literally and figuratively. As an environmental scientist, I know how essential the EPA is in ensuring that every American is protected from pollution and that our environment is protected for future generations. Your refusal to work toward the mission of the EPA makes each of you unfit for the position that you currently hold. Your active work toward dismantling the EPA makes you a serious threat to the health of millions of Americans. I demand your resignation effective immediately.
