G PFEIFER 0 SEMINAR ON REVIEWING A5G1S BLOOD LEAD/GASPLINE LEAD ANALYSES Ron Snee and I have participated in several EPA workshops during the past year leading to the revision of the Air Quality Criteria Document for Lead. One area of heated controversy is the contri bution that declining gasoline lead use had to the observed decline in blood lead levels noted during a four-year national survey. Our analyses on the contribution of gasoline lead have resulted in markedly different conclusions than the analyses of the EPA and CDC. We anticipate a special statistics panel assembled by EPA will review our methodology very carefully. As a result, before we release this material we would like to have an internal review of our methodology. In particular, we would be interested in any comments you may have on flaws, additional analyses or alternative approaches. . We would appreciate your attendance at an informal seminar at 10:00 AM on September 9 in conference room 51N14 where I'll present our analysis.
