Paul K. Saunders-Zone 1 PLAINTIFF'S EXHIBIT MON-1074 Jim Cook made a safety contact in Department 10 concerning removal of the IOE65 bundles. The boilermaker he contacted didn't think the work was or could be done safely with the present equipment arrangement. An investigation was conducted by Ray Micheel, Paul Saunders, Morgan Holder and J. C. Jensen, boilermaker. The primary problem is the position of three cooling water valves over the bundles. These valves are located such that the rigging for the bundle removal has to be done by only a couple of specific boilermakers very familiar with the problem. Even under these circumstances the bundle removal is difficult. If rigged improperly there is a danger of damaging a bundle or even getting someone injured. By rotating these three valves the rigging would be much less critical and handled with little danger to personnel or equipment. An MRO has been issued to take care of these valves during a shutdown.
