Production
The month of December drew to a close, a year that was marked by 5 Aroclor records. Ihese records were set in March, April, May, September, and Deoember.
New Produots
Santlcizer 794 has been made one time in our \ blend tank. We filled 40 drums for a oustomer in the plasticizer market. It Was made by mixing 50# 1260 and 50# 1248. Large Aroclor sales are predicted in this field.
Several months ago we made a blend of 20# TTCB and 80# 1248. Recently we received another order but referred it to Anniston. We had no TTCB,
54201KA is the full name for 1254 PPO. Every batch we make goes to Westinghouse. It is possible the Sp. Or. and Index range will soon be widened.
Safety
In 1964 we had 25 minor injuries. This is an average of 1.8 per man, the plant goal is 1.0 per man per year. April and May were our worst months with 44# of all injuries occurring then.
Here is a brief rundown: 8 burns 6 cuts and bruises 4 eye injuries 3 chest irritations 2 PPO irritations
Possibly the 2 more serious ones were: 1, A man slipped while putting a drum in the dumpster, fell, and hurt his lower
' baok.
. . 2. A man spilled liquid from a PPO drum into his shoe. He did not wash it off and the result waB a greatly irritated foot.
We had no injuries at all during January and February of this year. March has brought 2. We oontlnue to be very careless with our eye protection, Ihe minimum eye protection to be worn when not in the control room is safety glasses, doggies should be worn when sampling and when necessary face shield.

Quality During the last part of 1964 we started getting some competition from overseas. Some companies In France, Germany, and Japan began making Aroclor. We have analyzed some of their material and its quality is better than any we have ever made. We are not too far behind In quality though. In February and March of 1965 we made 1242 almost as good as the foreign material and better than we have ever made before. The Research laboratory and TSD are working with us to Improve our quality. They have made some very high quality material In the laboratory. After plant tests are run we'll know what type of equipment we'll need to make the best Aroclor.
