A. electrostatic precipitator is described. The article, written by George D. Clayton, USPHS, is summarised as follows; "1. The operating voltage has been increased by the development of an oil immersed coil which will provide voltages up to 13,500; "2, Increased dependability of the electrical system has been secured; imiii's now[hIt No one has a "corner" on ideas. A manometer made of plastic material has been designed to obtain greater accuracy in measuring flow rates; and "6, A description is given of a simpli fied voltmeter which wilt indicate the performance of the instrument with ease and dependability." ENGINEER WANTED BY UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA "We are looking for a relatively young engineer who has had experience in industrial hygiene and sanitary engineering to join the faculty of the University of California. The post will probably be primarily in the school of public health, but will also be coordi nated with the college of engineering. The man*B time will be devoted pri marily to industrial hygiene, but he would possibly also be required to teach some classes in sanitation or sani tary engineering. The position that we have in mind will probably pay $5,000 to $5,400 a year for the man whose experience, previous research, and publications meet the standards of the university for the tenure grade of associate professor."--Harold B.
