Following Up on POLITICO Interview Request
Hey Michael and Jahan,
Sorry for my delay. My editors would like to move forward with scheduling the interview, assuming that's still on the table. I'd be happy to hop on a call later to discuss, but here is the information I can pass along right now
To be transparent regarding POLITICO'S timetable: The editors are trying to get the story out by the end of the month. If there's a reasonable assurance (barring an emergency cancellation) that we can get an interview on the calendar in the next three-four weeks, I think there's a good chance my editors will delay publication. Getting Administrator Pruitt's perspective would greatly enhance the pier.
I can't say that for sure they'll postpone publication, but I could give you a final answer by the end of the week.
Ideally, we'd be able to get a brief interview with him by the end of October. If Administrator Pruitt isn't available until November, would senior advisor Kell Kelly be available prior?
I appreciate you guys trying to make this work. I understand how busy it must be, especially with the big news from yesterday from the EPA administrator.
Again, happy to discuss by phone. Let me know how you'd like to proceed. And thanks.
- Malcolm
