ABDOOO17498 VISTA CHEMICAL COMPANY CORPORATE SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT STANDARDS Subject: Effective Date: Ventilation Systems September 15. 1995 Supersedes: Approved By: 1.0 SCOPE This standard sets forth the general design, operation and maintenance requirements and procedures for Vista Chemical Company owned and operated ventilation systems inside of buildings designed to minimize personnel exposure to hazardous substances and/or atmospheres. It does not address or specify all of the requirements for design of such ventilation systems. It does not apply to comfort or energy considerations unless they have an effect on the contaminant control ventilation. 2.0 PURPOSE The purpose of this standard is to establish minimum design, operation and maintenance requirements and procedures for certain ventilation systems. This standard: 2.1 Sets forth the requirements that will, when combined with appropriate work practices, achieve safe concentrations of air contaminants. 2.2 Establishes Vista general design requirements (alarm system needs etc.) and criteria relative to ventilation systems. 2.3 Establishes training requirements to ensure employees are provided consistent information on proper ventilation practices. 2.4 Establishes minimum testing, inspection and documentation requirements for ventilation systems mentioned above. 2.5 Establishes the minimum requirements for a written ventilation program.
