One of the elements identified as a potentially harmful product is asbestos, commonly used in the composition of brake linings. As a manufacturer of brake linings and disc pads we make every concoivable effort within the limits of available technology, to keep the workplace for ourworkers as free of asbestos emissions as possible. The responsibility does not end here however. Our customers and your customers should also be fully aware of the necessity to inform the workers of the necessary precautions when handling or working with brake linings, disc pads and dutch facings. The Friction Materials Standards Institute, which is an association of the brake lining manufacturers, has published a Work Practices Guide. It is aimed at the brake shops and any other areas where the workers are engaged in handling, grinding, etc., brake linings, disc pads and dutch facings. The least amount of grinding you and your customers do. greatly helps reduce the amount of asbestos emissions in the environment. We believe it is a fine publication and it carries a vital message. As a matter of fact, we will be incorporating it into our brake dinic program. After reviewing the enclosed copy, give consideration to distributing the booklets to your customers. Determine your requirements and let us know your needs. These booklets cost us approximately 10 cents each, however, we are happy to supply reasonable quantities without charge.
