(Proposed) American National Standards Committee On Disposal of Aakarel Used In Blectrlcal Soulpatent Dear Mr. Peyton: This i8 further to sty November 19, 1970 letter submitting a NEMA recommendation proposing establishment of subject new American National Standards Committee. It was originally proposed that NEMA and the Monsanto Company be designated as Co-secretariats with NEMA as the Administrative Secretariat. More recent consideration in that regard by NEIA and the Monsanto Company indicates that no practical necessity exists for Co-secretariats. There fore, n e m a now proposes that it be designated as sole Secretariat. At this time, NEMA also wishes to submit for consideration a pro posed initial scope for this activity to read as follows s "Procedures and guides for the safe use, maintenance and disposal of askarel and askarel-soaked materials used in electrical equipment." For your information, in anticipation of formal approval of this new ANSI project, NEMA will call an early February 1971 conference of all concerned principals to lay the groundwork, outline a program of action, recommend list of organisations to be Invited to participate, *tc.
