Subject:
Necessary exemption from the PFHxA Restriction
Dear
Thank you for your messages of 23 December requesting meetings to discuss the PFHxA
restriction proposal and the need for a derogation on behalf of your client. We have also
been asked to reply on behalf of
, Mr Pettinelli, Mr Cozigou and
, who have receives similar messages.
Currently the PFHxA restriction is at the stage of ECHA opinion development. More specifically, the first public consultation has finished and the received stakeholder comments, including those of your client, are being evaluates by ECHA's Scientific Committees. Once their draft opinion is published, a second public consultation will take place during which stakeholders may provide further comments. During those stages, the Commission is in general not yet actively involved and has rather the role of au observer.
We therefore believe that it will be more efficient to meet once the ECHA opinion is available (expected not before June this year). Due to the significant number of derogation requests, we would also encourage you to co-ordinate with other concerned companies, if appropriate through associations such as the FluoroCouncil.
Kind regards
