Daar Dr, Edgars
I have written to Dr, Fairley about the situation in Australia which i discussed with you and I am sending you herewith a cop;' of my letter which expresses my point of view about the problem* It would seem to me that within a reasonable period of time whatever advantage is to be gained from this method of demonstration will have been achieved, and this matter can be disposed of in the proper manner, I can think of no other way of solving it at the present time 'without stirring up difficulty, but if any other method of improving the situation occurs to you or suggests itself as being worth some cor rosoendeuee with Mr, fully, 1 hope you will .go ahead with it. I distinctly do not like the principle of maintaining a situation in. which wholly unnecessary exposures, even of a hypothetical type, exist, file fact that Dr, Fairley has considered these exposures potentially significant and feels that it is necessary to examine these men at times, is in: itself a somewhat unsatisfactory situation and yet 1 can not advise him to ignore this factor of potential exposure even though tinder ordinary circumstances. I believe; the* matter to be insignificant*
Very truly yours.
