The use of diamond wheels to saw Asbestos-Cement pipe into the required lengths for 1/8, 1/A,
and 1/2 lengths has been fully substantiated, but the diamond matrix must be flooded at all
times. This requires water pumps, floor sumps, and related equipment to handle the water to
and from the saw. By substituting "wet" sawing for "dry" sawing, we eliminate the asbestos dust condition and realize a cost reduction by extended saw life. Example: At present, we use
an average of one and one-half Carborundum blades per shift at $10 each and a diamond blade saw
at $425, achieves 4 to 7 months before changing a saw is required. We anticipate that the
operation can be reduced to one shift (from the present two-shift operation), resulting in a net savings of:

Gentlemen:
With reference to your inquiry of May 13, 1976, we are pleased to quote as follows:
Wet saw complete as shown on Dwg. Nos. D-1091 thru D-1099. The main structure will be shipped in two (2) pieces: The roller frame assembly and the saw arm, stand & drive assembly. The air&hydraulic valve panel shall be shipped separately and shall be suitable for securing to your concrete foundation. The electrical controls shall be in an enclosure, KEMA 4, approximately 42" x 30" x 8", suitable for floor mounting. The control box and stand and 20 feet of conductor cable shall be shipped as a loose item.
The quotation excludes all piping from valve panel to cylinder (except flex hose assemblies A-6 are included), electrical conduit and wiring.
Painting shall be as shown on the drawings.
The small items shall.be shipped on skids. The larger items shall have timbers bolted onto base thru anchor bolt holes. Loose hardware shall be boxed.
Three copies of manufacturer data shall be supplied for all purchased items.
This quotation does not include the 25 H.P. 1800 RPM motor or the 2 H.P. 13.5 KPM gear motor. These items shall be furnished by CAPCO.
