No additional comments were received. A revised draft is in composition. It will be circulated to the subcommittee for final review and approval prior to issue. L. T. Freeland reported the additional suggestions had been received from 0. T. Skretvedt and T. J. Nelson. After reviewing these suggestions with several members of the subcommittee, the following action was taken: Paragraph 3.7.2 was revised to require a 5X safety factor when a single fit test is used. Suggestions to provide masks from at least two vendors and to not allow adjustment of the mask during testing were not accepted. The 5X safety factor will provide a 95 percent confidence level that protection will be adequate while the 10X safety factor suggested would provide a 99 percent con fidence level. The 95 percent confidence level is consistent with S12T. 2. S7H (Proposed) - Chemical Protective Clothing (Safety & Fire Protection Subcommittee responsibility - K. A. Chen, L. F. Perci" J~ Mattson of Haskell Lab reported that the monograph on glove protection will be issued by the end of October. The report will include a description of the test procedure, a summary of available data, and guidance on application. It was agreed that work on the standard should be expedited.
