Consistency across the Site Is desirable to avoid employee confusion. Perhaps the solid yellow curbing nearby (to indicate a possible trip ping hazardl can be black and yellow stripped and allow the white stripe to be repainted solid yellow (to indicate a high noise level). 17. "Hypalon" Area a. "Vazo"-64 Is used in the "Hypalon" process and its highly toxic decomposition product,' tetraethyl succinonitrile (.TMSN), has been detected In a waste stream. However, possible exposure of personnel to this chemical has not been evaluated. It is recommended that this be done. b. Gasoline powered fork lift trucks are used to move supplies and product pallets Indoors. When the car6on monoxide buildup was measured 3-4 years ago, one truck was found to be improperly adjusted, emitting excessive CO. It is recomnended that CO emissions from gasoline powered'fork lift trucks operated indoors be checked since no tests have been conducted in the past 3-4 years. c. A 15X caustic leak (approximately 1 gallon/minute) was noted pouring from the valve area of a caustic storage tank near chloroform unloading.
