Mr. H. Arthur Williams President
Mannington Mills Inc. Salem, NJ 08079
Dear Mr. Williams:
You have taken my reply to Mr. Tutmill's letter and read into it more than I said.
The jury is still out on asbestos, but there have been enough published materials to clearly indicate that asbestos is a dangerous material and can be hazardous to a person's health. I am sure that you are also well aware of all the law suits which are based on asbestos. It is impossible to determine how a lawsuit will be decidedr but in many cases decisions have gone against firms who have used asbestos or in some cases even sold products containing asbestos.
The mere expense involved by being named in a lawsuit even though a company may be successful in defending against the lawsuit can be substantial. '
In reading my letter, I do not see that I mentioned Mannington's Products or that I made defamatory statements about your products.
Sincerely,
WH P :lr
