HASKELL LABORATORY FOR TOXICOLOGY AND INDUSTRIAL MEDICINE
H-23005: STATIC, ACUTE 96-HOUR SCREENING TEST TO FATHEAD MINNOWS, Pimephales promelas
PURPOSE: This is a rangefinding study designed to provide an estimate of aquatic toxicity using fixed
test concentrations and data measurements at predetermined intervals.

H-23005: STATIC, ACUTE 96-HOUR SCREENING TEST TO FATHEAD MINNOWS, Pimephalespromelas, CONTINUED
RESULTS
Based on visual observations, the water control solution and the 05,1-0,50, and 500 mg/L test solutions all were
clear with no color during the test. The 5000 mg/L test solution was cloudy yellow at test start and after 1 hour. After 24 hours undissolved test substance was found at the bottom of 500 mg/L test solution. Mortalities were 0,0, 0,40,100 and 100% in the 0,0.5,1.0,50,500 and 5000 mg/L, respectively. The 96-hour LCso, based on nominal concentrations and mortality, was between 50 and 500 mg/L. All water quality parameters were within acceptable limits except the pH of 5000 mg/L was low.
CONCLUSIONS
H-23005 exhibited slight toxicity in a 96-hour, unaerated, static acute test using fathead minnows, Pimephales
promelas.
