DIRECTIONS FOR MIXING AND APPLYING PLAINTIFF'S EXHIBIT ACOUSTICAL PLASTER SABIMTE ACOUSTICAL PLASTER SHOULD NOT BE APPLIED WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE COMPANY'S REPRESENTATIVE WHO IS AVAILABLE WITHOUT COST. PURPOSE SABIMTE ACOUSTICAL PLASTERS are made in two types: One for general acoustical use desig nated as "Sabinite", and the other on areas sub jected to high moisture content, such as swimming poois, shower rooms, and laundries designated as "Sabinite 38." All forms of Sabinite are designed to correct acoustics in audience rooms and to re duce the noise level in otherwise noisy rooms. "Sabinite" is applied to gypsum base coat plasters. "Sabinite 38" is applied on Portland cement base coat plaster, as described in these directions. Sabinite is applied on exact, predetermined areas, after acoustical analysis of the room has been made. Failure to apply it to specified areas may result in a failure to obtain the desired result. The plasterer is cautioned not to reduce the area speci fied by the architect for Sabinite application with out having first obtained in writing the approval of the architect, and the approval of the Engi neering Sales Department of the United States Gypsum Company. COLORS Sabinite is made in four standard colors and white. Special colors are made to order. Observe the fol lowing directions regarding colors: See that the Sabinite which you have ordered is the correct color desired and specified before applying it. Colored Sabinite must be very thoroughly mixed to avoid streaks and aiscoiorattons. PREPARATION OF BASE "SABINITE": Apply only to a uniformly dry, gypsum base coat, consisting of scratch and brown coats, not less than l/2 inch in total thickness. Do not apply to any other base. Do not apply to old plaster work of any sort. Do not apply directly to concrete or to Bondcrete applied to concrete. ' The brown coat must be brought to a true and level surface by rodding (to produce uniform color and prevent the use of excess Sabinite). Brown coat shall be thoroughly cross-raked to receive Sabinite. "FOR SABINITE No. 3S": Apply Sabinite No. 38 to a level, rodded base coat consisting of scratch and brown coats, not less than inch in total thick ness, of Oriental Stucco Base Coat, or recommended Portland cement. Do not apply to old plaster work of any sort. Do not apply directly to concrete or to Bondcrete applied to concrete. BASE COAT MUST BE UNIFORMLY DRY: All Sabinite shall be applied only to a uniformly dry base coat. The base coat should not be artificially dried until it has thoroughly set and hardened. MIXING Sabinite requires only the addition of clean water to make It ready for use. Consult directions on back of bags for amount of water for each bag. Nothing else should be added to It. The different types of Sabinite should never be mixed together. Either machine mixing or hand mixing may be used.
