Att: Mr. R. L Gentlemen r Jordan The following is a brief resume of a claim recently filed against us for death as a result of lead poisoning. We also attach copies of reports of Dr, H, E, Clark, dated January 4, 1934, Dr. 0. P. Murnen, Dentist, dated January 6, 1934, Proof of Death, dated August 27, 1935 by Dr. E. G. Claxton, Autopsy Report of Dr. P. W. Porro, and three letters commenting on the condition by our representatives who checked up on this matter in 1934 and 1935. Our Mr. Alden telephoned you on June 17, 1936, requesting, if possible, an appointment to discuss the entire situation with Dr. R. A. Kehoe at your office in New York City. The deceased employe, age 37, had a history of working as a plumbei^^neaperTrom 1914 to 1915. He worked at odd jobs from 1915 to 1918. In 1918 to 1919 he was employed as a sailor. Prom 1919 to 1930 he was employed at the International Paper Company, Pyrites, New York. He entered our employ on June 6, 1931 at Ogdensburg, N.Y. as a laborer. He became a garage man in January 1932 and a yard man on July 1, 1934, and all the time he worked for our Company and as near as we can learn his duties were materially the same, helping around the yard and unloading tank cars. It seems he had more to do with tinloading the tank, cars in the last two years of his employment than formerly. This man probably unloaded about 75 cars a month and all of these, of course, are not the high test Ethyl gasoline. Further investigation is being conducted which we expect to have completed in about one week. We would appreciate your early advice as to when we might expect Dr. Kehoe in New York City, so that we may discuss this case and decide our course of action in defense of the claim.
