DOUBLE LAYER SECTION 2 HI-TEMP ApRLIcAWon Pase 27 OUTER LAYER - DUCTWORK (cont'd.) 5D2.5 The outer layer blocks, on the side surfaces, shall extend above the inner layer insulation.on the top surfaces a distance equal to the thickness of the outer layer insulation. (See figure 22) 5D3 SECURING DUCT INSULATION 5D3.1 After each course of outer layer blocks has been applied they shall be banded. 5D3.2 Insulation having a perimeter of 96" or less shall be secured with 3/8" wide bands that over 96" with 3/A" wide bands. 5D3.3 The blocks shall be secured with 4 bands per each 36" long blocks and positioned as shown in figure 23. 5D3.4 Corner clips (see note) shall be placed on the corners under each band to prevent the bands from cutting the insulation. (See figure 23) NOTE: Corner clips are l" x l" x 2^" long 16 ga. 90 aluminum angles bent and cut to length in the sheet metal shop.
