McKay - New York Dear Hugh, Bob Naylor sent you a copy of subject issue and called to your attention O'Connor's report on deaths caused by materials used in this market. I an attaching a letter which I received from John March on this subject and I strongly urge .'that we institute a program to take asbestos workers in the various areas of the country' and give them a thorough physical examination to determine through proof that there is no harm to human life from contact with glass fibers. I certainly don't recommend that we make any big splash about this but feel that we should defend ourselves and make available to the trade in a reassuring way cases where we have examined people and found that there was nothing harmful from having contact with fibrous glass products. In other words, we should conduct a good reassuring defense for such accusations as are made by people like Mr. O'Connor. I will appreciate your thoughts on this matter. Best regards, D. W. Ladd, Jr.
