Air readings from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health taken in the Pittsburgh Corning plant are cause for grave concern. My discussion with Dr. William Nicholson of the Mount Sinai School of Environmental Science in New York leaves no doubt that every individual in that plant will develop asbestosis and surviving that, the very likely possibility of developing the cancer mesothelioma. The amount of asbestos fibers in the air in that plant ar^so great that every expert on the subject is shocked when they ore made aware of the problem. I fully understand the fears the members of the group have for their jobs. However, the workers must fully understand that their health and longevity is very definitely at stake.
