Yates On May 23 we reviewed with you the preliminary scope of a project at Anniston for bulk storage and packaging of Aroclors together with some planning for KGK. The various stops being considered are summarized below together with order-of-magnitude costst Anniaton 1. Hew tank farm to include 11 bulk storage tanks, 3 blend tanks, pumps, filters, separate product pipe lines, tank car and tank truck loading facilities. Included is a spur track, 1 block of 6th Street, a substation and various utility extensions. Estimated cost for this is $1,000,000 including $140,000 for spur track, substation, road and utility extensions. 2. A new drumming station located in one end of a proposed warehouse at 6th and Parkwin Streets. Only that portion of the warehouse building re quired to house the drum storage and filling oper ations is included. Estimated costi $660,000. 3. Hew flaking and packaging facilities for solid Aroclors end biphenyl in the same end of the pro posed warehouse as the drumming station. . Estimated costi $490,000. 4. Obviously the above presume a warehouse will be built. This will be lower in cost than the orig inal estimate ($450,000) since some of the facil ities (spur track, utility extensions) are included in the above proposals. We have not roestlmated the warehouse cost. Because of the high costs, we are looking at alternate ar rangements to weigh the potential cost reductions against disadvantages. We have not looked at this in detail yet but the plant has recently issued a proposal. 6. One scheme for additional production capacity at WGK (40 M Ibs./year 1242 continuous chlorinator system) has been scoped and estimated - $800,000.
