Admitted H.U.P. -1/28/46 In 1938 when patient was working at battery company he developed dull, steady headaches, constipation and pares thesia and weakness in his legs and pains in his elbows. These progressed until 1940 when he was diagnosed as having lead poisoning. He had worked with red lead for seven years, from 1933 to 1940. When diagnosis of lead poisoning was made he was put in another job out of contact with lead. After changing his job, his headaches improved but he continued to have weakness which was alleged to be greater on the right side than on the left. He also has complained of epigastric pain which is sometimes relieved by food. . Initial examination was essentially unrevealing. The patient Is now in the process of study which will include gastrointestinal x-ray series and estimations of the lead concentre in blood and urine. 0o0i 448
