I Don Marino Arsen Sant IghI an August 19, 1974 On August 14, 15, and 16, 1974, EP 5465A and EP 5669A were tried In Pro duction at the Chicago Plant In order to accommodate the roclpes and/or tho machines for asbestos free products. On August 14, 1974, three batches were produced of EP 5669A In an attempt to produce ft 390 tops on ff 6, 1-pc machine. With no explanation, a small part of the flange started falling off. and after 10-15 cycles, the whole top. Meanwhile, two batches of EP 5669A were sent to ft 7, ring machine. The ff 697 tool was on and almost 90 rings were produced. The machine ran smooth, and no noticeable cavitations occurred. Being curred, the rings are acceptable from the Production standpoint. On August 15, 1974, four batches of EP 5465A were produced and sent to Super G trying to form ff 376 boards. The machine has had new screen and also a semi blind flange was placed In order to reduce the slurry supply pipe I.D. from 4" to I J*. The run was normal (filling time, dewatering time), no sticking to the-screen has been experienced, and the boards' surface was acceptable. The curred boards are very similar to the standard boards. On August 16, 1974, one batch of EP 5465A was produced and used on fy. The run v/as not 100% successful because I was unable to set the machine parameters 1C4 did produce some good boards (six cavities ledged boards too) was employed) while the form time was dropped from 25-26 sec (normally used for Px 10 recipe), to 10-11 sec. The main goal for that day was the usage of EP 5&&9A at Super G as a Plx recipe. In that respect, we did produce two batches of EP 5&&9A. The run was smooth and no problems were encountered. The ff 971 tool was used, (four cavities). The cycle time was slightly lower than standard G recipe and the boards were even and smooth. The semlblJnd flange on the slurry supply pipe was !not used for EP 5669A. % 1. In my opinion, EP 5669A can be used right away on Super G and if 7 ring machine. The usage of EP 5&69A will have an economical Impact because It Is less expensive than standard recipes. 2. EP 5465A can be used on Super G In order to produce Px boards. The usage of EP 5465A can also have an. economical Impact. 2104 .3 If the Chicago Plant wants to Implement these recipes (EP 5^5A and EP 5669A), It would probably be worth It for the good of the production for a representative of our department to bo physically present^!* Chicago for one week to overcome any trouble which can occur. 1 1 .. .u.
