Dear Mr. Boswell: It was nice talking on the phone the other day during which you had mentioned that you are in need of a coating for silos that would meet FDA requirements. Although many of our individual resins are approved for use in various FDA regulations, total formulation must meet the extractive tolerances described in the particular FDA regulation. For instance, the Neville LX-782, which you are purchasing is an approved sub stance for use in FDA Regulation 121.2514, RESINOUS and POLYMERIC COATINGS, but could not be used alone for such an application. I had suggested that you use the LX-782 in a cold cut vehicle, using a small amount of bodied linseed oil as a plasticizer for the application that we had talked about. As you probably know, when using linseed oil, some drier will be needed such as cobalt naphthenate. .
