Dear Ralph:
I enjoyed discussing your conversion of the U.S.S. Savannah to a refrigerated liquid vessel. I read your brochure and do believe this is a worthwhile project.
Tenneco Hydrocarbon Chemicals Division presently moves approximately 100,000 tons/yr of vinyl chloride monomer to New Jersey. We are presently searching for a more economical means of movement than the use of railroads. Any movement by ship would require the construction of terminals in Houston and New Jersey. Our plans are still in the formulation stage but could be finalized rapidly if a more economical method of transportation were available.
I am most interested in keeping up with your progress on utilizing the U.S.S. Savannah for this type of service. If I can be of any assist ance, please feel free to call oh me.
Very truly yours
