Cincinnati, Ohio. tear Sir: George Warren has forwarded some scale from the bottom of the tank which was being cleaned at the time he was in Savannah, Georgia. I am not sure if it was the same tank in which the m^n became sick, nor am I sure whether it carried leaded'regular or Ethyl gasoline, nor what size tank it was, but I think George will give us this information shortly. I believe there is a definite smell of lead salts in this deposit. We would be interested in your analysis and any further thoughts you have on the entire situation. As you may know, we are making a change in our set up in order to have better information and control of the entire situation from a health standpoint. It appears to me that tank cleaning is one of our big question marks and you may rest assured we are going to try to do everything possible to cooperate with you in seeing that such exposures are impossible.
