A ll of the afo re sa id p a rtie s w ere subject to the provisions of the Com pensation A ct and the em ployers herein had com plied therew ith by insuring , th eir com pensation lia b ility with the in su rers set out in the caption h e reo f. i ' i Pursuant to due and reg u la r n o tice , in form al hearings w ere held ' before the Com pensation C o m m issio n e r for the F ir s t C o n g re ssio n a l D is tr ic t on S e p te m b e r 3 0 , 1957 and N o ve m b er 2 7 , 1957, when c o n fe re n c e s w ere held betw een j:he p a r tie s in an attem p t to c o m p ro m is e the en tire c a s e ; thence postponed to j Ju ly 20, 1959, when a further conference was held for this purpose. I A t these co n fe re n c e s, it was the cla im a n t's contention that the `d e c e a s e d had w orked fo r m an y y e a r s w ith the e m p lo y e rs h e r e in , in s ta llin g asbestos insulating m a te ria ls; th at, as a resu lt th e re o f, he contracted an occup ational d is e a s e , to wit: a s b e sto s is ; that he becam e d isab led th erefro m on o r about Ju n e 6 , 1957 and re m a in e d so d is a b le d u n til h is death on O cto b e r 14, 1957. 1 A llegin g that the d eceased 's d isab ility and death aro se out of and > in the course of his em ploym ent with the em ployers h e re in , the claim a n t, as i [dependent w idow , sought com pensation for the disability and death of the deceased together with paym ent of a ll the reasonable m e d ica l, su rgical and hospital b ills that had been in cu rre d , and the b urial expense, as allow ed by law . The respondents, how ever, denied that the deceased had sustained j any occupational d isease that arose out of and in the course of his em ploym ent , p ith the em p loyers h e re in . The respondents further contended that the entire | claim was barred by reason of the statute of lim ita tio n s. The respondents furthe contended that the d ece ased 's d isa b ility and death was due to an acute coro n ary , be elusion and other causes unconnected with his em ploym ent with the em ployees h e r e in .
