My contribution to this issue was that of editing a series of papers which were presented at a Conference in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in November of 1968, and writing an introductory statement to explain the origin of the papers and to describe the Conference. The matters in which you will be interested, I believe, appear in the papers of the Conference. The title of my introduction was rendered misleading (and I should have corrected it) by the necessary process of shortening the original title by the A.M.A. writers. The original title indicated the true nature of my statement.
