Wheeler, Union Carbide Subject: European Group Research Program Gentlemen: Word has just been received that a meeting of the European Group representatives planned for early December had to be postponed, and is now definitely scheduled to be held in Milan, Italy, on Wednesday, January 17 -- probably at the Hotel Baglioni beginning at 9 AM -- to be followed by a visit to the research site at Bologna the next day. Mr. Elliott's cable invited attendance by representatives of the companies participating in the U.S. program "to dis cuss results to date (and) to help in formulating future European programme." Through phone conversation with Or. Torkelson as chairman of our steering group, named Vinyl Chloride Research Coordinators, I have learned he will attend, accompanied by Dr. Richard Kociba, Dow veterinary pathologist. It is hoped others also will take advantage of this op portunity. Please let me know just as soon as possible if you so plan, and whether you would like rooms reserved for you. (If your decision is delayed until shortly before the meeting date, please communicate direct with Dr. T.
