Moll V' -* r- - VINYL CHLORIDE SAFETY ASSOCIATION 'Executive Committee Meeting March 19, 1970 As a result of our last meeting in Atlanta, the Executive Committee met on March 19, 1970, for the purpose of organizing future safety meetings. The meeting was held in New York City, attended by: Messrs. G. I. Rozand-Chairman, J. C. Smith-Vice Chairman, Ray AstiVice Chairman, J. Barr-Vice Chairman and S. Schreiber-Secretary. Arrangements have been made by Mr. J. C. Smith for a 2-day meeting at the Pleasant Point Resort at Point Pleasant, West Virginia and attached are the details of those arrangements. The meeting is scheduled for May 26 and 27, 1970. Mr. J. Barr has been appointed program chairman for the next meeting and attached please find a copy of the agenda which I believe is self-explanatory. We are also attaching a copy of a draft of the proposed by-laws for our association. We suggest that you review these by laws with your legal department and submit your comments to this writer, no later than May l8th.(Pls. retuhn your ballot by 4/40/70) The Executive Committee will then assemble all of the comments prior to our May 26th meeting and make any revisions necessary corresponding to the remarks we received. We plan to have a hand-out of the revised by-laws at the next meeting. Rather than waste our safety meeting on business matters, we suggest that you take the revised by-laws back again to your legal department and hopefully, at the safety meeting following the May meeting, the entire membership should be in a position to formally vote on the adoption of the by-laws. Any expenses incurred during the May meeting will be prorated to all attending members. Following this next meeting, we should have a pretty good idea as to the magnitude of expenses and we will at that time evaluate the necessity of electing a treasurer arid assessing necessary dues. BOR 005958 Our investigations with the AIChE and MCA revealed that those organizations would not permit closed sessions. Preliminary conversations with SPI indicates they may be willing to have us associate with their organization and will permit closed meetings. We will report to the membership in greater detail, concerning this subject during our business meeting on the first day of our sessions at Pleasant Point, W. Virginia. Your Executive Committee, following the expressions made at the last Atlanta meeting has decided to limit the number of attendees to 50 at any meeting. Therefore, by May 4th, would you please Indicate to this-writer whether or not you are -planning to attend the May 26th meeting. If our earlier estimates are correct, we will in all probability have to restrict the attendees to 2 per company. It seems unlikely that we can devote adequate attention to all 20 subjects in the approximately 10 hours of meeting time that we have scheduled. Therefore, you are asked to vote for the ten most interesting subjects to your company by noting beside the most preferred item a no. 10, a no. 9 beside the next, and so on. The items receiving the highest score will be scheduled. You are warned that if you place a 10 beside a subject, you may be asked to help lead or participate in the discussion of that subject. You are also warned that if you fail to vote, your pet topic may be omitted.
