Aa you know, the industry increased the price o f th e ir asbestos on January 1 , 1965 by $ 3 .GO per ton and there i s a further'reported increase of scheduled fo r January 1966, This will&ake your cost o f asbestos rather high compared to what you can buy i t from Hedman. I t would be to your advantage to switch to Hedman asbestos now and help us increase our tonnage fa ste r beeause as the tonnage increases to the degree we foresee in our operations we w ill be able to maintain our lower price and possibly reduce our price s t i l l further with your cooperation. As mentioned Hedman i s the only company turning out low-cost short asbestos in Group 7 as a "Primary Product". Being a primary producer means that we can increase uur out p u t-without the problems confronting youc-- supplier which must keep markets, in balance for the other 89 grades they produce to obtain the by-product you presently use. At present there i s a shortage o f short asbestos by-products, such as you use from Quebec, due to the reduced sales o f the longer, higher priced Primary Products upon which th is one o f many by-products depend. New large tonnage uses o f low -cost short asbestos are quickly developing to the degree that i t may be d i f f i c u l t fo r you to obtain your raw m aterial, p a rticu larly a consistent product from one source without fear of shortages. Your e ffo r t to help us increase our tonnage at th is time w ill enable us to help you when you need i t ; and at the same time save your company considerable. I s i t possible for you to reformulate with Hedman Asbestos and produce a saving of $20,00 per ton o f your finished material as per our le tt e r o f November 2 , 1965, in ad d iti on to further savings as a r e s u lt o f the lower cost o f Hedman asbestos? People lik e the big Lincoln E le c tric Co. o f Cleveland, Ohio have done so and have been using . our m aterial solely fo r about 2 j years with, complete success, througcut th e ir company.
