He is coming to attend the BelTox conference on the 7th December. As we are on the verge of an intense year of EU regulatory action on PFAS, I was wondering whether you would be interested in a meeting with Dr. Oyebode? I would like to propose a one hour meeting in your offices to present and discuss our understanding of where the health science on different PFASs stands and to enable an efficient short deep dive on this complex topic. If the meeting could take place either on the 6th, or on the 8th or 9th December, that would be the most suitable for his schedule. 3M is supportive of a REACH restriction which recognizes the vital role of modern PFASs across several sectors critical for the EU's strategic autonomy and which is based on sound science (including risk assessment). At 3M, we have spent decades studying PFAS compounds and promoting the state of scientific knowledge about their effects on people and the environment. One of the most recent research studies was published last month in the scientific journal Environment International. The study examined the antibody response to COVID-19 vaccines among our workers with a wide range of exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. The study shows statistically insignificant reduction in antibody response and no association with COVID-19 disease.
