EDTj ON Powell Q Sharar THE ANACONDA COMPANY GREAT FALLS REDUCTION DEPARTMENT GREAT FALLS, MONTANA October 20, 1958 MEMORANDUM Mr. Steve Stockdalet American Chemet Corporation, called and said that he had just been in telephone conversation with Mr. Shropshire, President of American Chemet Corporation, and he wished to advise us that they were willing to receive a shipment of our Casting Bag House Fume. This first shipment is to be for a net of twenty-five tons or more of the material^For this amount of fume, it will be necessary to consider the loading of the material in two cars. They want bottom-dump fume cars. During a recent visit of Mr. Porter he left a covering material at the Plant, and we will apply this covering in accordance with his Instructions. The shipment is to be made one car on one day, and the second car to follow the second day. This is necessary in order to facilitate the handling at tht American Chemet Corporation Plant at East Helena. >- Mr. Shropshire advised that he had now been ahle to raise the maximum lead content of the fume which would be acceptable for this purpose to 0. 04 per cent lead. We should sample the cars, and on the basis of our previous work, 1 would suggest that both ends of each car be sampled and then a combined sample made of these two parts.
