The scrubber system will consists of a packed tower, reaction tanks, pumping and a cooling system. The scrubbing solution will be 5% sulfuric acid/30% glycol/water. Concerns: The main reactive chemical concern is the catastrophe which would probably result if acid scrubbing solution would back-up into the EO storage tanks. Since this project is in the initial engineering stage perhaps a HA20P study of the line between the DH tank and T-202 would be appropriate. The potential for this scenario to occur should be completely eliminated. Another Reactive Chemicals review should be conducted towards the end of Phase 3 Engineering.
