Forsthoffer 0-5 Bob Bohmler SS-9 Dan Nelson 3 3D The 3rd Quarter Safety & Housekeeping Inspection for Dept. 13/14 was conducted by the inspection team of Ray Forsthoffer, Bob Bohmler, Dan Nelson and Bob Hammann on August 14. The unit was given an "outstanding" rating. The following items need to be corrected: Safety 1. Hose needs proper tagging - in the storage building by utility station 16-17. 2. Need to resolve difference in philosophy between Dept. 15/16 and 13/14 in access to interlock cabinets. 3. Is there a better way to store the NaOH beads than keeping them in the c bag? 4. Ladder station by 16D2-B interferes with walkway. 5. Steamerette station by 16-12 utility station - need to remove or repair. Also remove air compressor hose. 6. Piece of grating in trench by northwest corner of catalyst building and 13S201 - need to repair or replace. +7. Sample taps for 13P27 and P28 are a considerable improvement from the past sample system. Minor modification of lengthening the tubing would improve this situation even further. 8. Plank supporting pipe by 13S9. 9. Oil can cabinet by 13P9-2 has a bad hinge. 10. Extension ladder on top of rack west of 100 building has no sticker and is also defective. Also ladder labeled 25-2 has defective plastic bumpers. 11. Face shield missing in Zone 1 maintenance shop. 12. North entrance to air conditioning building has a tripping hazard. New sign outside control room depicting safety record - good idea. 15. Relief valve has been out since 7/23. Housekeeping 1. Remove scaffold on third deck of 14/16 structure - was there during last inspection. 2. Dust mask in fire extinguisher box 13-34. 3. -Trash in skirt of 14D4. 4. 14E19 steam tracing goes to pad - need to improve this situation. Also numerous steam and water leaks around this area. +5. Many kudos on the appearance of the catalyst building. Keep up this good work. 6. Consider installing some metal trash cans around Dept. 13/14 area. 7.
