Subject: Asbestos Product Copies To:
Mobil Chemical is one company in particular which does not
want
asbestos products in their dryers. . We will be facing
more in the near future when we do jobs involving films, etc.
for food processing. We have done jobs in the past where our air bar
gaskets were changed or left out entirely due to non-compatibility.
The important point is we must search out new gasket materials
for our applications in critical drying processes.
Secondly, attached is a memo concerning asbestos in general. We certainly will have to replace these materials as well. The difference is most of the first applications will not have to seal and live at 500 to 600.
The intent of this is to caution you about the first area. If you are on a job where you may question the acceptability of asbestos lets discuss it.
Fina.ly, I'm looking for a volunteer to search out or conceive new iueas for sealing air bars to heads, duct connections, etc. all areas. If one is so inclined please step forward -- if not I'll still find a volunteer by my methods.
