Heretofore Aviation Gasoline has been the only product blended with lead and there haa been no actual or probable need for a doctor having qu alificat ion s other than those d ir ect ly r elat in g to the exam in ation and care o f the men doing the blending. The Standard Oil Company of Br asil have now decided to refin e and blend flu id for motor gasolin e of t h eir new refin ery which is now being b u ilt in Sao Paulo, At presen t d istr ib u tion w ill be confined to the Sao Paulo area but once in , I am confiden t, general distribu tion w ill soon follow . While there i s no reason to expect any objection s eith er from governmental, st at e or private sources, especially sin ce the major companies are a l l sympathetic to the use of leaded gasolin e there is n very remote p o ssib ilit y th at a m all company which previously negotiated fo r the use of lead and s t i l l appears in terested may attempt to block Standard's using lead and as th is company can yield considerable power i t would seem desirable and of course is in accordance with policy to have available a medical represen tative capable of presen tin g the true fact s and defending Uth ylfs in t er est s.
