The reception will be held in the Astor Ballroom of The St. Regis Hotel, 923 Sixteenth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The reception is being held in conjunction with the 128th meeting of the Council, which will begin at 9:00 a.m. the following day, Tuesday, December 4, 2018, also in the Astor Ballroom of The St. Regis Hotel. The meeting agenda will include remarks by the Honorable Rick Perry, Secretary of Energy. The National Petroleum Council is a federal advisory committee to the Secretary of Energy and has contributed many valuable studies to successive administrations since being established at President Truman's request in 1946. The approximately 200 members, mostly chief executive officers of oil, natural gas, power, and related companies, as well as representatives from academic, public interest, and other outside organizations, are appointed by the Secretary of Energy. The National Petroleum Council members welcome the opportunity to visit with you informally during the reception. I hope that your schedule will permit you to join us on December 3.
