Johnson Controls Industries (JCI) presented its activities, explaining they were manufacturing both products with Fgases and with natural refrigerants (in particular they own Sabroe manufacturer, which sells propane and ammonia chillers).
JCI informed being concerned about some of the bans for low GWP refrigerants proposed in the revision of the Fgas.
In particular, JCI finds definitions for air conditioning, refrigeration and heat pumps not precise enough to be sure what is intended exactly.
CLIMA explains that it is difficult to introduce new elements in the trilogue that are not already part of the proposals of the three institutions but that the Council and Parliament are well aware of the position of the industry.
They also explain that some of the bans, which at the start were targeting specific product ranges / sizes, have been extended to broader categories. This leads to problems to identify suitable fluids for part of the applications.
In particular for heat pumps, JCI thinks the REPowerEU targets for heat pumps are at risk of not being achieved.
It is agreed to have a follow-up meeting in June with Johnson Control
