ILLINOIS 60064 U.S.A. / (312) 689-1111 CABLE-AMMCO EXP/ TELEX: 3781911 The AMMCO Model 8925 Dust Collection System provides a highly efficient means of collecting, containing and disposing of dangerous asbestos dust. The powerful suction fan built into each AMMCO Brake Shoe Grinder pulls dust from the surface of the brake shoe and deposits the dust in a sealable plastic bag. Once properly installed, the system requires only the periodic replacement of the disposal bag to maintain safe operating conditions. MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS No. 9890 Mobile Bench: Tape the folded Drilling Template in position on the end of the bench. Center punch and drill the four mounting holes. Mount the guard assembly. Other Benches: Mounting hole location can be established by taping the fully open Drilling Template in reference position over the exhaust port of the Shoe Grinder. No. 2204 Bench: Same as No. 9890, but use exhaust hole on template for No. 2204 and use No. 8-18 self tapping screws for top holes. assembly instructions Refer to the illustration at right for parts positioning. 1. Replace the threaded locking screw above the Shoe Grinder exhaust port with the stud (1). 2. Thread the hose clamp (5) through the neck of the dust bag (6). Slip the neck of the dust bag over collector elbow (4) and tighten the clamp. 3. Slip the ring and seal (2) onto the collector elbow (4) and join the dust collector to the grinder exhaust port. 4. The clip (3) straddles the elbow (4) behind the two protruding lugs. The "feet" of the clip hook under the grinder base to provide the necessary grip to seal the two units together when the clip is snapped over the stud (1). 5. The dust bag and rubber seal (6) are pushed down through the guard to hang above the pail (7). 6. Press a plastic disposal bag into the bottom of the pail (7) and fold the excess over the top edge. Lift the pail against the rubber seal (6) to seat it in the ring of the guard assembly (9). CAUTIONS DO NOT attempt to operate the Brake Shoe Grinder without a disposal bag in the pail of the dust collector. BEFORE STARTING, always check to be certain the entire system is correctly assembled. SEAL and REPLACE a disposal bag when it is half full. DO NOT empty and reuse a disposal bag. DO NOT subject yourself or others to exposure to breathing asbestos dust. Read and understand the disposal bag replacement instructions on the label of the guard assembly.
